Went to see Toby Keith over the weekend, after spending a good part of Saturday watching the protesters at the Republican Convention. Talk about polar opposites. Like I've said before, I believe that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and the right to protest is one of the things that makes us great...but I much preferred the flag cheering, "USA" chanting, soldier saluting group of cowgirls and cowboys at the Toby Keith concert to the often bitter, irate, shrill bunch in New York. Now I personally feel that there's no point to protesting the enevitable, but if that's how they want to spend their time...

According to msbhivin, I was the Tom Servo in her Mystery Science Theater moment over the weekend. I'm OK with that, so I thought I'd post a portrait!

My son started the 4th grade today...I can't believe it. I remember when he started day care and was so sad to see me leave. This morning it was a quick hug and "bye, mom." Of course, I'm glad he's well adjusted enough not to miss me, but I realize every day that he's not a little boy any more, he's a boy. Sure he'll always be MY little boy, but he's growing so fast, and so tall, that it just makes it all seem like time has passed too quickly!
